It's well worth taking a few minutes every morning to cultivate gratitude and well wishes.

After you wake up, before you start your day, you can sit down and meditate, even if it's only for a few minutes.

After getting settled and taking a few deep breaths, you put your mind at rest and you become aware of the body and the room. How it feels to sit. The smell of the air. The light. The sounds. The weight of the body. The sensations inside your head. The air flowing through your nose. The lungs. You can notice all of this, with or without words.

Once you're aware of the body, you can shift your attention to grattitude. What are you thankful for? This doesn't have to be an exhaustive list. Briefly dwell on one or a few things that you especially feel thankful for today. It could be a person, an experience, and or an ability.

Then comes the well wishing. This may be the best part of your day. Make a list of the people or animals  you wish well. Envision them smiling and happy, and wish them goodness. This list can be mostly the same every day. One by one, hold these beings in the light for a few seconds.

After you've completed this, you can keep meditating or get up. Your day will be better because you did this. Every now and then, you can let someone know that you think of them and wish them well every day. They will probably appreciate it and this will give them strength and determination.
