Three simple questions can help you increase the quality of your presence:
How's my presence? Merely checking in with yourself will make you more present. You can develop a habit of checking in, and attach it to another common task, such as sitting down, drinking water, or opening a door.
What flavor is it? Sometimes we bring our problems with us and they affect the quality of our presence. We may be grumpy, tired, discouraged, or scattered. Maybe all of the above! There are usually no magic solutions to fix this. Simply noticing it may take the edge off.
Why am I here? What is your purpose in this moment? Do you want to learn? Be right? Teach? Be supportive? Ask for help? Feel supported? Rest? When you're clear about your purpose, you'll know what to do.
