Sometimes you're traveling, you don't have Internet access. Mapless needs Internet access when you're searching for a destination. Once you add the destination to your history, Mapless won't need Internet access to point to it.
Let's say you're traveling internationally. When you're in an Internet cafe, you can add a number of destinations to your history. Then when you're out and about, an no longer connected to the Internet, you can tap on any of the locations you just added and walk towards them.
The iPhone's compass may not be functioning properly. To calibrate your compass, move away from any magnetic fields and hold your device in different directions.
You can turn it like a steering wheel, not like a screw driver. Between turning it in different directions, hold in still for a few seconds. After calibrating your phone, the arrow may start pointing to the correct direction.
You can also open the Compass app and verify the direction of true north.
